When implemented at scale, structured career guidance can help young people:

Make more informed career decisions

Align education with their interests

Pursue pathways that lead to meaningful livelihoods

🎯 The Opportunity Is Clear:

Scalable, evidence-based career guidance can transform educational outcomes and open pathways to meaningful careers for millions of young people.

Stories Behind Our Success

Swarnlata Manju - Teacher
“I feel confident in facilitating the CareerShala classes. This program has provided me with clarity about many career options and opportunities available for my students. I noticed that in the interior areas, students were only aware of traditional careers (Mukhya Careers), but now they are being exposed to a wide range of career paths. The role model activity has been particularly motivating for them. This program is helping them believe that they can achieve something and make progress in their careers..”

"Students are now more aware of diverse career options and actively exploring their interests. They openly ask questions and engage in discussions without hesitation. Through sessions and activities, as a teacher, I have also gained insights into fields like Coding and Beauty & Wellness, which has increased my confidence in guiding students. The career manual has been a useful tool in structuring sessions and facilitating open conversations."

"I want to become an Art Therapist, but initially, I didn’t have enough knowledge about careers in the art and design industry. Through the Pratibha Manthan program, I explored various career options and gained valuable insights. The career card was especially helpful, and Ritu Ma’am’s guidance made a big difference. With the support of resources and activities, I also got the opportunity to experience my skills through projects. This not only boosted my confidence but also gave me a space to share my learning and experiences with my peers."

"The Careershala program has been extremely helpful for both students and teachers. It helped me build a stronger connection with my students. They now openly discuss their career aspirations, and I feel more confident in guiding them. Earlier, many chose Math, assuming it had better career prospects, but after the sessions, they are exploring diverse options with more confidence. The online trainings were incredibly useful, and I feel more confident in supporting students with career decisions."

"The Kal Ke Kirane program empowered students with various skills and career awareness, helping them develop an independent perspective on their future. Initially, my question was—what happens after providing the critical skills? Career awareness filled this gap, making the journey more meaningful. My experience was enriching, both personally and professionally. During Career Manch and Role Model Interactions, students' curiosity highlighted the program’s significance. This initiative gave them the opportunity to think beyond limitations, recognize their potential, and break societal barriers. It created a safe space where they could come together and envision their careers with confidence."

" joined AEF as a student during my 11th and 12th grades. After participating in the program for two years, I later worked as a community lead, engaging with 11th and 12th graders in government schools on self-awareness and career exposure. This experience led to a significant mindset shift in how I approach problems and decisions. I learned to think “Out of the Box,” asking questions like, “Why does it have to be this way?” and “What new approaches can we explore?” It reshaped how I view challenges and possibilities. Through the program, I also understood the importance of career awareness. I saw how early exposure and guidance can influence students’ aspirations and help them make more informed choices. I realized that discovering one’s passion often comes through trying different things, learning from failure, and continuing to explore. Today, I work with the Indian School of Democracy, building on the self-awareness, leadership skills, and systemic understanding I developed during my time with Alohomora. I continue to explore and learn."
